DR LONG NECK taper core bass strings have stainless steel wrap wire over a hex core, with an elongated span between wraps at the ball end.  This give LONG NECKs greater tuning stability and firmer contact with the bridge, for enhanced stability, clarity, and deinintion in the lower register.
