SIT Silencers are a premium 80/20 bronze wound acoustic guitar string, with a nice bright tone. But they also have a uniquely smooth surface texture and appearance to the wound strings that sets them apart for regular 80/20 bronze strings. It's the way they are made that sets them apart. The Silencer inverse winding process compresses the outer most part of the cover wrap, as it is wound onto the core. This flattens the outer edges of the round wrap wire, producing a much smoother contact surface that results in a smoother, silky feel and a significant reduction in finger noise. It also creates a more reflective surface, causing the strings to actually look bright, sort of like flat wound electric strings, but Silencers have a nice golden, brass color that really shines. The resulting strings have all the tone of a regular round wound string, so nothing is sacrificed in the process. The non-wound treble strings are premium grade, high tempered plain steel, which sound great also. Silencers are the perfect string for the studio, or any time you need ultra low finger noise.
