Savarez 500AR's are a normal tension string set featuring KF Alliance plain mono-filament (carbon composite) treble strings, and  Corum silver plated, wound bass strings with multi-filament treated nylon cores.  KF Alliance trebles are  made of a high tech carbon material, very different from nylon; with different elasticity, higher density, and greater longevity.  Their density and elasticity is similar to gut, the original guitar string material.  Their tone is bright and clear, with incredible power and projection. KF Alliance trebles are thinner than nylon mono-filament strings, so they have less internal friction when they vibrate, plus they don't give up as much energy to the surrounding air. This enables them to have longer sustain and purer tone than nylon. Corum wound bass strings are also an advanced design, with features that allow the strings to be more flexible; so they sustain the sound much longer. They are also very responsive, with a clarity and fullness for each note. Together, the KF Alliance trebles and Corum wound basses make a well balanced string set with endless creative possibilities for the classical guitarist.
