With its roundback composite body, the MAE148 mandolin offers more acoustic volume and cutting power than expensive flatback models. To put it simply, the shape enhances the sound. This 8-string mandolin has a 13-7/8” scale length, a spruce top with custom Mando-Quintad bracing designed specifically for the mandolin, to enhance punch and projection, and a satin-finished nato neck and a generous cutaway at the body. It also features a pinless bridge for ball end mandolin strings. This style bridge makes string changes a snap, while minimizing intrusions into the spruce top. The MAE148's upper-bout soundholes are decorated with exotic hardwoods, and the easy-to-use onboard DJ2 preamp has advanced tone-shaping EQ to help you refine your amplified sound.
