Remembering Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass, Sep. 13, 1911 - Sep. 9, 1996.  His career spanned six decades, and he influenced countless singers, songwriters, and musicians, with his style, drive, and musical agility.  He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel and an  inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.  He shaped the courses of Bluegrass and Country music, and will always be remembered and honored as an the founding father the music we love today.  There would be no Bluegrass, if it hadn't been for Bill Monroe.
