EJ11's are "light gauge" 80/20 bronze wound acoustic guitar strings by D'Addario. They are extremely sensitive to the touch and easy to finger or chords, and produce a bright, ringing tone. 80/20 bronze alloy (80% copper, 20% zinc) is known for having a very bright treble accent, yet it softens slightly as it breaks in, yielding a full and rich tone. D'Addario's EJ11s a light, so they will have tend to have a soft and sweet sound with moderate volume on most acoustic guitars; however, they work extremely well with amplification on acoustic electric guitars. That's why they have been a favorite of Pete Townsend's acoustic guitar pieces for years. He know a good thing, and he sticks with it.
