Dean Markley Alchemy Gold Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings

No ordinary acoustic guitar string, Dean Markley Alchemy Gold  Bronze is a technically advanced string design, using innovative manufacturing process and aerospace materials. Specifically, this is a coated string; but not like any other. Coated strings have been around a while, and typically have an external coating of protective material applied to the entire string after its wound. This can have a positive effect on the life of the string, but it can also detract from its ability to vibrate and resonate freely. Dean Markley's Alchemy coating is different; it actually enhances the vibrating characteristics of the string, instead of damping them as do most other coatings. Alchemy strings start with mandril drawn core wire that's electroplated with tin, then the windings are also mandril drawn and electroplated with a remarkable composite material known as MC394K Bright-Coat, before being wound onto the core. The effect of coating the wrap wire before its wound onto the core, is that it completely covers the full circumference of the winding and protects it without acting as a stiff layer of non-metallic material on the outside of the string. The Alchemy coating enhances string vibration because MC394K  Bright-Coat is a super hard material that gets even  harder the more you play these strings. The combination of a high quality, tinned core wire and the Alchemy coated windings create a string that has superior tone, clarity, and harmonics in addition to an extended life span.   At the point where most other strings would start to sound dead, Alchemys continue to give you a crystal clear and well balanced tone, with rich harmonics and sustain. That's because the Alchemy coating doesn't wear out or break down, but continues to coat the string windings with a hard, acoustic conducting shell.  It's part of the string; not a soft coating that wears off.

The windings are 92% copper and 8% zinc, an alloy known for its warm tones and broad range, form rich bass to ringing trebles. The Alchemy coating process is applied to all the strings and adds a nice gold color that makes them stand out visually. This adds yet another element to their appeal, especially on guitars with gold tuners. They can add a counterpoint  to chrome or nickel tuners and hardware.

Another great thing about them is their unbelievably low price. It doesn't make sense that such a great string would cost so little, but they do at Guitar String Depot. We have them in three gauge ranges, so you can select what works best for you.

Never has an acoustic guitar string been so immediately accepted and widely praised by working professional. That's because they sound fantastic, have an unbelievably smooth and easy feel, last an exceptionally long time, and look beautiful. Not only do they sound great when they are new, they actually improve with break-in and age. They continue to give you a crystal clear and well balanced tone, with rich harmonics and sustain. If you have a treasured older guitar, maybe you should try a set of Dean Markley Alchemy Gold Bronze acoustic guitar strings, to give it life and bring out the character of that older instrument.

Quotes by endorsing artists:
Angela Baker: "Nothing has compared to the Alchemy on tone quality and string life. The Dean Markley Alchemy is by far the best string on the market".
Doug Smith: " Are you sure these are coated strings? Wow! They are resonant, brillinant, and the bass response is great. All of my tuners sound great on the Alchemy strings. Thanks again!"
Lacy J. Dalton: "Step on my "Blue Suede Shoes" all you want, but keep your hands off my Alchemy's!"
Armit Sond:  (Acoustic recording artist, UK) "What I like about Alchemy, other than their longevity, is that they are so smooth, because of the coating, and my fingers run easily from the first fret to the twelfth fret without much squeaky finger noise. Looks like I don't neet to use Finger-Ease anymore!!! My biggest problem is that my hands sweat a lot and I have to use Finger-Ease, like or not, during performances. Now I've found the ultimate solution - Alchemy! In my opinion, you've succeeded in killing two birds with one stone, and I congratulate you on coming up with these magic strings. The strings on my guitar STILL sound as good as new...as if pumped up with steriods or something!!!  Unbelievable...."
Peter Schindler, Producer: " I knew as soon as I put the first set on that I had found something special. The tone was incredible, and I noticed a significant increase n volume and projection. When I tuned down to DADGAD, I was mesmerized by the bass response of the low D; it produced a satisfying rumble that had never been there before. I played song after song, just listening and enjoying the sound. It was like experiencing The Wizard of Oz. I felt like I had always been playing in black and white and had suddenly discovered color."  And,"I have to admit I'd never thought of strings as being able to enhance the visual beauty of a guitar, but the golden hues of these strings are an eye-catching complement to the gold hardware of my guitar. It makes me think of an angel's harp. Of course, the image is only enhanced by the fact that the sound is heavenly."
