SR2000 series electric bass strings are the signature string of Will Lee, the master of the funky bass. He and Dean Markley teamed up to combine musical genius with design and manufacturing expertise, to create this amazing bass string.

 

Dean Markley SR2000 series electric bass strings have a unique tapper wrap after the string crosses the bridge. This allow the string to be more flexible in this critical area, so it can vibrate and resonate more freely. This means much longer sustain and clean, piano like tone that's bright and punchy. The SR2000 design features a Type 430 stainless steel outer wrap over a tinned steel core, with a specific core-to-wrap ratio that optimizes the magnetic and acoustic characteristics of these two materials for the electric bass. They may feel a little rough when brand new, but they break in quickly and give you a firm response for control and confidence. They last a very long time, and still retain their sonic qualities.  It's all in the string. Bigger tone, not big bucks.
