The "WAH" pedal is a guitar effects device with a foot pedal, that alters the peak frequency of the guitar signal up and down as the pedal is pressed and released. The resulting guitar sound has a distinctive "wah-wah" sound, much like a crying baby. They have been used by top guitarists since the 1960s, and are finding a rebirth with today's new generation of electric guitar artists.
The wah pedal is now an essential part of the lead guitarists pedal board configuration. Available in several models, with varying functions and features; but they all make the lead guitar stand out by adding an extra dimension of tonal creativity.
