A bajo sexto is a lot like a cross between a 12-string guitar and a bass guitar. It has a unique tuning that give it its characteristic sound. The tuning from the lowest to the highest strings is:  E - A- D - G - C - F. The strings are doubled and have unique string gages that have evolved over many decades, to the optimum size for the type of music being played on these distinctive instruments. The music is generally a style played in Northeasten Mexico and across the boarder into Texas, where it is sometimes called "Tex-Mex",  "Conjunto", or "Musica mexicana-tejana".  The bajo quinto has ten strings, and essentially a sexto without the double course of low E strings. This give the quinto a slightly higher and brighter voice, often heard picking the leads in Mexican music.

Because every Paracho Elite bajo sexto is hand-made, rather than mass produced, each instrument features unique styling with beautiful decorative inlays. Solid cedar tops produce excellent and warm tones, which actually improve as the instrument ages. Every Paracho Elite instrument is thoroughly inspected before leaving the workshop, to ensure it meets their high standards of quality and workmanship, as well as your own expectations.

We want to take the worries out of buying a musical instrument on line. That's why we keep them in their original factory packaging, but re-pack it into a larger box with lots of packing to ensure it arrives safe and sound.
